DO YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS?

Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions About Dental Implants

Dental implants are titanium screws, placed into the jawbone, that mimic the root of a natural tooth. They support permanent crowns, bridges, or full-arch prostheses, and restore form and function, similar to your natural teeth.
Implants integrate with your jawbone through a process called “osseointegration”, providing a stable foundation for replacement teeth.
Implants provide a permanent, non-removable, long-lasting solution, prevent bone loss, restore full chewing function, and feel more natural than removable dentures.

A single implant replaces one individual missing tooth, while full-arch implants replace an entire row of teeth (upper or lower) using 4-6+ implants to support a full, non-removable prosthesis. Full arch implants are essentially a fixed Zirconia or Hybrid Bridge, connected permanently to implants.

Zirconia is an ultra-durable, non-porous material that mimics natural teeth, lasts longer, and provides better aesthetics than Acrylic or Hybrid alternatives. It does not stain, chip, or break, and is over 10 times stronger than natural enamel teeth, offering viable, long-term solutions.

Candidacy & Eligibility

You may be a good candidate if you have loose or missing teeth, adequate jawbone density, good general health, and no uncontrolled medical conditions. Implant candidacy can best be determined with our complimentary consultation, where we can utilize diagnostic criteria to determine, plan, and schedule possible dental implant options for you.
Yes! If you have bone loss, bone grafting may be required to rebuild enough structure for implant placement. Depending on the amount of bone loss, additional procedures such as (but not limited to) sinus lifts, trans-nasal, trans-sinus, pterygoid, and zygomatic implants may need to be utilized to achieve your desired result.
Yes, but it is highly recommended to decrease frequency and/or completely quit smoking, when starting dental implant treatment. Smoking greatly increases the risk of implant failure, as it lessens and/or restricts blood flow to the area(s) and can cause tissue to become necrotic. We strongly recommend quitting or reducing smoking before ,and after, any oral surgery.
Yes, but well-controlled conditions like diabetes are essential for proper healing. We’ll fully evaluate your medical history during the consultation.
If you are doing individual implants, it is recommended to take care of periodontal issues surrounding neighboring teeth before any implant surgery is attempted. However, if you are considering full arch dental implants, all your teeth are removed in the process, and thus periodontal disease does not need to be rectified before surgery for treatment success. We are, essentially, starting from “ground zero”, and can clean out and rectify most periodontal issues.

Procedure Details

The surgical placement of implants depends on the specific treatment, complexity, and number of implants being placed. For single implants, most procedures take approximately 1-2 hours, however for full arch implants, it can take anywhere from 3-7 hours to complete. Time is variable due to the specific procedure(s).
No, the actual implants are located in your jawbone, which is devoid of nerve endings. It is commonly described as pressure, and soft-tissue soreness, more than pain. With single implants, the procedure is done under local anesthesia (Novocain) as well as nitrous (laughing gas), while full arch implants are typically done with IV sedation, administered by a board-certified MD anesthesiologist, to ensure comfort. Mild discomfort after surgery is manageable with over the counter pain medication, steroids, and at times, prescription pain medications short-term.
For single implants, we offer local anesthesia (Novocain) and nitrous (gas). For full arch implants, we offer IV sedation, similar to a colonoscopy or endoscopy procedure, where you are fully asleep, and wake up after it is completed. IV Sedation is a very controlled, safe way of doing your surgery, since you are fully asleep, and a board-certified MD anesthesiologist continuously monitors your safety and comfort.
Yes, but well-controlled conditions like diabetes are essential for proper healing. We’ll fully evaluate your medical history during the consultation.
The timeline for your final teeth varies from person to person, and treatment options. With “Better Than A Denture (TM)” you receive your permanent, final teeth within 14 days. With our regular ImmediaTEETH® full arch treatments, your permanent, final teeth are usually delivered within 5-6 months of start.
For full arch implants, the majority of your recovery extends 2-3 days post operatively, with most people returning to work by day 4. The most complex cases can have a recovery time up to 7 days, but most patients find it is less severe than they originally expected.
Yes, they are usually dissolvable and will disappear within a few weeks.

Cost, Insurance & Financing

The cost varies based on individual needs and treatment.  Individual implants range from $1995 per implant, abutment, and crown, to $2795 if an extraction and bone grafting is necessary.  Full arch implants start at $11,990 per arch, with full mouth upper AND lower all-inclusive implant options starting at just $19,990. There are no additional fees for extractions, or bone grafting, for full arch AOX options, as that’s all included automatically.  There are no “surprises” after-the-fact.

We can provide further pricing and finance options during your consultation, as it is dependent on your specific treatment.

Most dental insurance plans do not cover full implants, but some may cover certain aspects like extractions or bone grafting. Although we are out-of-network with ALL dental and medical insurance, we will be happy to provide you with the procedure codes and breakdown of treatment, so you can do your own submissions. With full arch implant treatment, reimbursement up to your yearly max is common for most PPO dental insurance plans, and although we do take payment in full upon start, we recommend that you submit claims on your own for reimbursement and can support you throughout the process.
Yes! We offer financing through 13 different financing companies – there is usually something for everyone! We do not do “in-house payment plans”, however one of our financing companies caters to those who do NOT have credit, or those who have poor credit, and fully funds our BTAD full arch treatment as most everyone is approved! Although the traditional financing companies are credit dependent, we have many creative financing options that may work for you. There is no prepayment penalty with any of the companies we utilize, so you can pay as much as you want per month without penalty, and get rid of the loan as quickly as you like. They all allow borrowers other than the patient themselves, to piggy back off of good credit, and some of our financing partners do not ever do a hard hit on your credit, which may appeal to some patients that don’t want their credit score affected. We have 0% interest plans, fixed APR with low monthly payments, and even options for those with poor or no credit! We are happy to discuss this with you in detail at your consultation.
Yes, dental implants are often eligible for Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). They work just like credit cards, where you charge a portion of your treatment to your HSA/FSA account.
Yes, we do take payment in full upon starting any dental implant treatment. For full arch treatments, that is done at the first appointment called “Scans & Photos.” For single implant patients, it is done at the time of scheduling. For those patients who want to pay monthly, and split up their payments, we offer financing options with 12 different companies. We have plans that have a low monthly payment, plans that are 0% for up to 18 months, and plans that are soft even after initiating the loan.
We do have multiple creative financing options and alternative solutions to fit your budget.

Aftercare & Long-Term Maintenance

For single dental implants, care is similar to your regular teeth, with brushing, flossing, using a waterpick, and coming for hygiene cleanings 4x a year (every 3 months) to stay under implant warranty. For full arch treatment, brushing and using a waterpick is essential for periodontal care and implant health, and hygiene cleanings every 3 months (4x a year) is necessary to keep your implants healthy and under warranty.
No, but lack of proper maintenance can cause periodontal infections and, in some cases, implant failure.
You will be on a “soft food diet” for several months post-surgery. This doesn’t mean blended babyfood and protein shakes. But, it does mean avoiding anything hard, crunchy, or sticky. Rule of thumb is – if it can be cut with the side of a cheap plastic fork, game on.
With proper care and maintenance, implants can last a lifetime. They are hypoallergenic, and meant to withstand the test of time.
No, whitening solutions will not affect individual implant crowns or full arch prosthesis. It is important to weigh the pros and cons of your color choice before getting your finals, as some materials are porous and will stain, and some will not ever.
Yes, they are designed to look and function like real teeth. However, full arch implants will always feel more “bulky” than your natural teeth, simply due to the fact that the are a connected single unit bridge with no “holes” in-between that you can floss.
While single implants are similar to individual teeth, full arch treatments do not allow you to floss, as they are a one piece U-shaped bridge. Patients are encouraged to use a waterpick to get around hard to reach places and keep gums healthy.

Common Concerns & Misconceptions

We understand and empathize! Many of our patients have had difficulties in the past and share similar sentiments. We do offer IV sedation for all full arch treatments, and a stress-free consultation experience to make the process as easy and comfortable as possible. At the end of the day, we just want to help you! No judgements.

Absolutely! Many patients who were previously turned away elsewhere find success with our advanced techniques. Dr. Israeli brings a wealth of experience and a refined, “old-school” approach to dental implant treatments. With 19 years of private practice specializing in implant placement and full-mouth restorations—long before full-arch treatments became widely popular—his expertise ensures exceptional, lasting results.

While rare, implant failure can happen. We will assess the cause and provide a solution, such as bone grafting or a replacement implant. Although this can happen, the closer you can adhere to guidelines and be compliant with clear directions, the less of a chance of that to occur.

No! One of the main fundamentals of our treatments, whether single implants or full arch restorations, is that they look natural! We do not produce “white chicklets” and having our designers schooled in fine art, design, and aesthetics, your final teeth will look like your natural smile, distinctly yours!
Yes, unlike dentures, implants are a permanent, non-removable solution that cannot be taken in and out nightly. They function similar to your natural teeth and offer long-lasting, lifetime results.
